Watch Amorim's reaction

Nuno continued

“I’m always positive and I was seeing the team play good. The subs came late because there was no need, because the boys were in control of the situation.

“You say the chance came late, but it came. We finished the game well.”

Nuno's reaction

“I think it was a good performance overall. Very good second half, even though we conceded. After that the reaction was very positive – we dominated, we controlled, we went for it and deserved the draw.

“The game could go both ways, but I’m pleased with the performance.”

Amorim continued

“We had a big opportunity with Cunha. We had the ball near the box but the crosses were not good.

“Sometimes the players’ characteristics inside the box are not good. They are not enough to score goals from that position.”

Amorim continued

“Losing second balls. And when they kick the ball long. Mateus [Fernandes] running with the ball. They win the first ball and then Bowen was making the runs.

“You can’t control that kind of game. We should be better with the ball after the first goal.”

Amorim's reaction

“It [the performance] was not constant,” Amorim said. “We had good moments and we lost control a little bit in the first half and a little bit in the second half after the goal. We should have closed the game when we scored the first one.

“The game was in control. We knew it. Let’s defend far from the box. We knew set pieces would be a problem with the difference in height in the team but we could do it. We could maintain the ball after the first goal and again we lost two points.”

Full-time (1-1)

Boos can be heard around Old Trafford as the referee’s whistle brings the game to an end. It will go down as a valuable point on the road for West Ham, given their situation, although they could even have taken all three.

For United it is another disappointing performance and wasted opportunity at home. If Amorim wants to take them back to the top, then displays like this and their last home match against Everton are unacceptable.

Massive chance (1-1)

An even bigger chance for Fernandes to win it for United and right at the death.

Todibo fails to deal with a long ball and United’s captain volleys wide from the edge of the six-yard box.
