LIVE updates from Old Trafford as Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Carrick on how United can keep improving

“I do genuinely think it was a really fantastic achievement to be where we are at the moment. The players deserve a lot of credit for that.

“We just want to keep improving. I said it the other day, when you get nearer to the top of the league, the harder it gets and you’ve got to make big steps but it’s harder to make those big steps.

“Certainly evolving the group is one thing for sure. That’s no negative on the group as it is now, I think you just want to keep pushing forward.

“We’ve got a really good group of players we want to keep improving and getting better. That’s additions, and some of the young players will be better next season for the experience.

“We just want to keep moving forward. There’s not a magic ingredient to do that, it’s just hard work, a bit of brains and intelligence and good players as well.”

Carrick on his future at Man Utd

“I’m a supporter as well so regardless of anything I want there to be a lot of good moments.

“I think it’s been pretty clear from what I said a couple of days ago really, it’s the same. Over the coming days there will be clarity over the situation.

“I think today was important for the game and getting the right result and some individuals shining today. Whatever the news is going to be, I’m sure you’ll get it in a few days.”

Pereira on his own future at Nottingham Forest

“Yes, we are planning for next season together. We are working to plan the next season together.

“Of course it’s normal with the media and the speculation. I think we did good work together with the help of our supporters and we have everything to move on and to start to build something stronger for next season.”

Pereira on Elliot Anderson's future

“This is an answer I don’t have.

“The market is the market. In the market, everything can happen. What I can say to you is the club wants to keep him playing for us, for sure.

“The club wants to keep almost all of the players because this is a very good group with quality and with character and we have a very good base for next season.”

Forest boss Pereira questions why Cunha's goal was not disallowed

“It’s a pity that, in the end, the game was decided by a decision that, okay, I must accept because it’s the decision of the referee, but it’s not my opinion. For me, it’s handball. Very clear.

“But he decided not to cancel the goal and for me it was the decision that decided the game.

“I think that he thinks the control in the end was after the touch on the body. I think I must accept but it’s not my opinion. I watched the images and in my opinion, he controlled the ball with the hand and the goal comes from the control.

“If not, they will not have a chance to shoot and score. But in the end this is the doubts we have in this moment in the Premier League about the decisions.

“Handball, we don’t know what is handball or not. The blocks in the box for free-kicks, we don’t know if it’s a foul or not. I think it’s important to have a meeting with everybody and try to understand the rules, the decisions, because I think everybody, all the managers in this moment have doubts about some decisions.”

Carrick continued

Carrick continued: “Listen it’s a huge thank you from me for the support this season. We enjoy the ups and we enjoy the downs. The best thing about this place is you lot – the supporters.

“We’ve had some big goals and big days in this place over the last few months. Hopefully there’ll be some more of them.”
