‘He sees everything’ – Potter impressed by January signings

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has heaped praise on January signings Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk and has backed them to keep improving.

Fernandez joined the Blues for a Premier League record £107m fee in January from Benfica.

While his arrival was followed by a disappointing run form for the club, he has started each of Chelsea’s last three games – wins over Leeds United, Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City.

And Potter has backed the midfielder to keep improving.

“He’s a fantastic player, a young player,” he said.

“I think he’s going to get better and better when he’s with us more.

“He’s just arrived to a new country and a new league so you always have to adapt to that. You can see his quality, when he gets the ball he passes forward. He sees everything.”

January also saw Chelsea pip Arsenal to the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk, who set up Mateo Kovacic’s goal in the win over Leicester.

Unlike Fernandez, Mudryk was left on the bench for the wins over Leeds and Dortmund but Potter is convinved he will impress more as he gets used to his new surroundings.

“He’ll get better and better. He’s a young player that hasn’t that much experience, so each game he’ll get better and better,” Potter said.

“His attitude is fantastic, he wants to help the team and work with the team. I’m delighted he got an assist and helped us.”
