“We’re all together in this.” – Pochettino says Chelsea owners texted him after Wolves defeat

Mauricio Pochettino reaffirmed the support he has at Chelsea by revealing that the owners texted him after their 4-2 defeat to Wolves, stating ‘they are all together in this’.

The pressure is building at Stamford Bridge on another manager in the Todd Boehly era. The Wolves defeat saw them fall into the Premier League’s bottom half and create scenes of unrest amongst home fans, who’ve seen their team concede eight goals in two games.

But, Pochettino is determined to get the fans onside, which makes their FA Cup replay with Aston Villa almost a must-win game.

“We need to create a good connection with the fans. The fans need to see from us that we care about the club. I promise to every single fan that the players want to perform,” he said.

“The players suffer a lot when they are not performing. They are desperate to feel the love from the fans, but at the same time they understand the situation.”

Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter didn’t last long under the current ownership and with the sizeable investment in the current squad, there are doubts starting to arise over if Pochettino has much time left.

However, the Chelsea boss revealed he got a positive text from the owners after the Wolves game and is focused on bouncing back against Villa.

“I received a very good text from them. We are all in this together. That is the most important thing.” he revealed.

“We cannot lose the focus, only for two defeats. 10 days before, we deserved to beat Villa and we competed really well.

“We cannot change the past, can only affect the future. We told the players to be ready.”
