Ten Hag: Man Utd do not need Casemiro to beat Arsenal

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag says his team have already proven that they can beat next opponents Arsenal without key player Casemiro.

The Brazilian midfielder is suspended for the clash with the league leaders on Sunday after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

But Ten Hag pointed to this season’s earlier game between the two, which United won 3-1 with Casemiro only coming on as a substitute, as proof that they can still secure three points.

“Casemiro is obviously a really important player for us and he’s one of the reasons we are in the position we are in now,” he said.

“But also, we beat Arsenal without Casemiro. We have a squad, so we have to fill that gap and make a proper plan.

“The squad has to fill it. As a team, we already showed how to beat Arsenal.”
