The deals that could happen on transfer deadline day

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is set for a move to Arsenal

The latest Premier League transfer news and the deals that could happen on transfer deadline day…

JORGINHO TO ARSENAL?

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Arsenal have agreed a deal with Chelsea for midfielder Jorginho.

The Italian is out of contract with the Blues in the summer and Ornstein says the Premier League leaders have agreed a deal with their London rivals worth £12m.

He adds that the 31-year-old will sign a contract until 2024 with an option to extend his stay by another year.

CAICEDO DEAL UNLIKELY?

With Jorginho set to join the Gunners, it looks unlikely that a deal will be struck for another central midfield player in Brighton & Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo.

Arsenal have already seen two bids rejected for Caicedo, the second said to be worth £70m.

Caicedo has publicly stated that he would like to leave the club this month, and Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi says the club are “ready to move forward” without him should he depart.

But De Zerbi and the club are keen to keep hold of the 21-year-old until the summer at least.

PORRO DEAL LOOKS DONE

Tottenham are reportedly closing in on announcing the signing of right-back Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon.

Sky Sports say the former Manchester City man has flown into London to complete a deadline day move to north London.

Spurs will pay £39m for the defender following a late breakthrough in talks with the Portuguese club.

CANCELO SET FOR BAYERN MOVE

In one of the biggest surprises of the transfer window, Man City’s Joao Cancelo is set to complete a move to German giants Bayern Munich.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein says Cancelo will sign on loan with the club with a buy option also likely to be included in the deal.

The Daily Mail claim a training ground bust-up between Cancelo and boss Pep Guardiola is behind the move after the player reacted angrily to being left out of the starting 11 for Friday’s FA Cup win over Arsenal.

CHELSEA PUSHING FOR FERNANDEZ

With Jorginho seemingly on his way out, Chelsea are hoping to complete a late swoop for Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues tried to sign Fernandez earlier on in the window but failed to agree a deal with the Portuguese club.

Talks are said to be continuing, but the Telegraph’s Matt Law claims a deal is yet to be struck with the deadline fast approaching.

ZIYECH ON THE MOVE?

Jorginho may not be the only player on his way out of Chelsea today, with L’Equipe claiming Paris-St Germain would like to sign Hakim Ziyech.

The 29-year-old is said to prefer a move to France rather than joining another English club.

Roma also reportedly hold interest in the Morrocco winger.

GALLAGHER TO EVERTON?

Having appointed Sean Dyche as their new manager following the sacking of Frank Lampard, Everton are now said to be trying for a late deal to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano claims the Merseyside club have submitted a £45m proposal for the midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace.

But other clubs, including Newcastle, are also said to be keen, with Chelsea also likely to want to sign a midfielder before letting Gallagher go due to the expected departure of Jorginho.

LEICESTER KEEN ON HARRISON

Leicester could be set for a busy end to the transfer window with Harry Souttar reportedly set to arrive from Stoke City, and the club are also said to be pushing to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds.

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds will listen to offers for the winger and Leicester are said to have enquired about a possible move.
