Newcastle midfielder Lewis Miley has withdrawn from the England Under-21 squad after suffering an injury worry.

The 20-year-old has returned to Newcastle for further assessment and will miss the Young Lions’ remaining European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Slovakia and the Republic of Ireland.

Miley was an unused substitute in England’s 4-2 win over Kazakhstan at Molineux last Friday but has now been forced to leave Lee Carsley’s squad.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham has also withdrawn from the squad.

Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong and Liverpool’s Trey Nyoni have been called up to replace the duo.
