FULL TIME (Newcastle 1-2 Arsenal)

Well we were promised drama, and that game certainly didn’t disappoint. It was a tale of three headers as Newcastle rode out an early Arsenal storm and opened the scoring in the 34th minute through Nick Woltemade and took the momentum in their stride. Arsenal struggled to affect the game for much of the second half, but substitute Mikel Merino headed home to even up proceedings in the 84th minute. Eight added minutes to end the drama was required, with Gabriel rising above all to score the winning header from a set piece, as he so often does.
