Live updates from St James’ Park as Newcastle take on relegation threatened West Ham.

Howe encouraged by two-goal Osula

“He’s really growing and improving all the time. There were some really good moments from him today, obviously the goals. To lead the line for Newcastle isn’t an easy thing, there is a lot of pressure, expectation and responsibility that comes with that role. I’m realy pleased with his progression but I still feel he has got a lot to come which is really exciting.”

Howe says it is a 'huge summer' for Newcastle

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe: “It’s a big summer for us, a huge summer for the football club. The results, how you finish the season, give hope for the next and that is what we are trying to do.”

Bowen: We're hanging on by a small thread

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen: “We are holding on by a small thread but we are still holding on. We have to see how the result goes on Tuesday, there’s a chance that we are relegated then and we can’t hide from it. The only thing we can do is wait and see what happens.”

West Ham boss Nuno says they must keep fighting until the end

“Let’s try to finish the season with dignity and respect for the club. It’s going to be a hard week but we owe it to the club to fight until the end.

“It’s possible (to stay up) but it’s difficult.”

90'+7
FULL TIME: (Newcastle 3-1 West Ham)

And it’s full time here at St. James’ Park. West Ham’s Premier League status is hanging on by a thread following goals from Woltemade and Osula. Castellanos’ wonderstrike is not enough to inspire a comeback for the Hammers, and Spurs need one point from their remaining two games to condemn West Ham to the Championship. It’s a fitting performance for the hosts to end their season at home, and a nightmare result for West Ham and Nuno. Stay tuned for the reactions from both managers here.

Defensive changes necessary (Newcastle 3-1 West Ham)

Newcastle have been all over the place since that Castellanos wondergoal. West Ham have come close to scoring again, and Eddie Howe will be hoping the introductions of Dan Burn and Jacob Murphy can bring some much needed composure to a currently erratic defensive structure.

GOAL: West Ham - Castellanos (Newcastle 3-1 West Ham)

What a strike that is from Castellanos. Is it too little too late? The substitute reads the bounce of the ball terrifically and from out of nowhere loops the ball over Pope from 25 yards out. A wondergoal from Castellanos, but can it inspire the comeback West Ham need?

65'
GOAL: Newcastle - Osula (Newcastle 3-0 West Ham)

And there’s the hammer-blow! It’s Osula again! The Dane receives the ball in the middle of the park and races away. He plays in Willock toward the by-line, who returns the favour to the forward. Osula is all alone in the West Ham penalty area and is free to tap it home to compound West Ham’s misery. It could be all over for West Ham as soon as Tuesday evening.
