Norwich City have confirmed that winger Ali Ahmed is set for a “prolonged” spell out after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The Canadian international landed awkwardly during the second half of Norwich’s pre-season friendly against CA Osasuna last weekend and was forced off.
Subsequent scans and medical tests have confirmed a ruptured ACL in Ahmed’s right knee with the 24-year-old now set to undergo surgery.
It means the Canaries will likely revisit the transfer market in an effort to bolster Philippe Clement’s squad in the wide attacking areas.
