Man City midfidler Tijjani Reijnders speaking to TNT Sports: “We know a lot of clubs suffer here. From what I heard Nottingham Forest at home is always difficult, and I felt it as well. It’s a very important win and we are on the hunt.

“They made the spaces really tight so it was very difficult to find the free man in between the lines. In the second half we made some changes to the formation and we could find the free man more often.”

Lovely intricate play on the edge of the area from City leads to Foden being one on one with John Victor but the keeper saves the midfielders effort.

Nicola Savona should have put Forest ahead.

Nikola Milenkovic fired in from 20 yards out for Gianluigi Donnarumma to palm away, but only as far as Savona. The defender had the whole goal to aim at, but his shot went well over.

The full back drives down the right and puts in a cross from a very tight angle to find Igor Jesus who turns and shoots towards goal. The Brazilian’s effort is deflected wide though.

Hutchinson may be on the scoresheet but that one was all about Morgan Gibbs-White.

He broke Forest out of their own half before finding Hudson-Odoi on the left. The winger then gave it back to Gibbs-White who slipped in Igor Jesus into the area to pull it back for an unmarked Hutchinson to tuck home.
