Jorginho says he is excited about what is to come from Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri and that he is “improving every day”.
The attacking midfielder has been included in each of boss Mikel Arteta’s four matchday squads in the Premier League this season and came off the bench in the win over Spurs.
A serious injury to Martin Odegaard could present Nwaneri with an opportunity for more game time and Jorginho says the 17-year-old is making encouraging progress.
“He’s growing a lot and he’s improving every single day,” Jorginho said.
“He’s a talented player with good skills, he can dribble, he can break lines, he can find the goal and find the pass, so I think he can have a good future in front of him if he stays the way he has been in training and trying to improve every day.”
Arsenal face Atalanta in their opening Champions League game and the Italian midfielder says his side have learned lessons from last season’s quarter-final exit to Bayern Munich.
“We need to take the lessons from last season and we will see this season,” he said.
“We need to be ready because it’s going to be a really tough game to start.”
