Cole Palmer has been left out of Chelsea’s squad for the league stage of the Europa Conference League.

The Blues qualified for the competition by beating Servette in the qualifying round and are due to face Gent, Panathinaikos, Noah, Heidenheim, Astana and Shamrock Rovers in the league stage.

But Palmer will not be featuring in any of those ties, with Chelsea keen to manage his game time.

Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana, who have both had significant injury issues since joining the club, have also been left out.

As has Ben Chilwell, who is not in boss Enzo Maresca’s plans.

They can be added to the squad for the knockout stages if Chelsea make it there, however.
