Postecoglou provides update on injured Spurs man after friendly win over QPR

Ange Postecoglou has played down fears over an injury to new signing Lucas Bergvall after the midfielder limped off during Tottenham’s pre-season friendly win over Championship side QPR.

Both Bergvall and fellow new addition Archie Gray started the game against their fellow London side as goals from Yves Bissouma and Dane Scarlett handed Postecoglou’s side a 2-0 victory.

There were concerns over the 18-year-old when he limped off in the first half against QPR but Postecoglou is optimistic that it is not anything serious.

“He’s just a bit sore, I don’t think it’s anything significant,” he said.

“For him, and for Archie to be honest, it’s all new for them with the way we train and we’ve got to look after them.

“But like I said, I don’t think it’s anything significant.”

On the performance, Postecoglou added: “It was okay, we’ve had a hard week of training and travel so I felt for the boys really.

“We kind of knew we’d be a little bit leggy today but I still thought we played some good stuff.

“We weren’t as clinical in front of goal as we were in midweek but that’s probably because, like I said, we’ve had a hard week.

“But it wasn’t too bad and everyone got through it which is the main thing.”
