Watch Pep Guardiola discuss Haaland and Rodri’s recoveries, Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest and MORE:
“You can’t switch off. There’s plenty going on. We’ve an incredible opportunity that I’m laser focused on giving ourselves the best chance of success.”
“It’s not about me, it’s about us as a club, we’ve fallen well short. We’ll assess all that at the end of the year.”
“If you look at his record last year it was pretty compelling. But we haven’t been able to keep him fit and have him out there long enough.
“He’s in a good place physically now, certainly with the opportunity, he becomes a real important player for us.”
“What’s important right now is not his future or anyone else’s, what matters is the opportunity to do something special with this football club.
“Everyone internally is focusing on that. That’s what our supporters care about.”
“Well aware our league form is not good enough but also aware an unbelievable opportunity on the horizon.
“A lot of clubs have had many season where they’ve done well in the league but don’t have the opportunity we have.
“That’s where the focus is, that’s where it should be.”
“What I feel is there are a lot of players that want to play for our club, if you look at our club in the moment with all the problems, changing coach, it looks a little bit of a problem but we have a clear idea and that’s the easiest part to explain for a player. It’s Manchester United and every player wants to play for Manchester United.”
Ange Postecoglou has stated that Spurs will continue to miss Son-Heung min as they visit Anfield this weekend.
In more positive news, Amorim says Amad is nearing a return to action having been out since February.
Mathjis de Ligt is also close but Ayden Heaven remain sidelined for the time being.
Ruben Amorim is speaking to the media ahead of Man Utd’s game against Bournemouth on Sunday.
He has revealed that Diogo Dalot is set to miss the next few games with a calf injury, and could be out for the rest of the season.
“We have Pedro, None and Jadon. Also Tyrick can play wide. They are working well, it’s easy for me to choose which one.”
“Pedro helps us a lot, especially with Nico’s injury when he played as a nine. We know he’s better from the right even if we sometimes play him there on the left.
“Our wingers for me, should finish this season with around 10 goals for the amount of chances they have in the game. Pedro is doing well, but he can do better in terms of numbers.”
“He will be in the squad, last week when he was out, we wanted to give some of the young players the chance to continue to be with us. Now he’s back, it was just for that.
“He’s training well, in this moment, if he is in the squad, one of the others have to be out for the Fulham game, probably Tyrick George. Now Malo Gusto is out, we can bring another one, Christopher is with us.”
“Compared to the last years this has not been a fail. How many times in the last years have Chelsea been in the Champions League?
“This season is already an improvement because we spend all season in the [qualification positions], now we’re going to try our best to finish there.
“Is it enough? No, because we want to compete, but compared to last few years it’s quite clear there’s an improvement.”
“I can understand. We are trying to keep them happy, I think the fans are the same that time ago they were thinking that Chelsea is back, they were happy.
“Because we’re not winning the same amount of games they are showing they are not happy. We need to accept then and now, the players are working hard everyday to bring this club to where it has to be.”
“In terms of results, the obligation to bring this club, have been there. The good thing is that, me as a manager, the club, we all have a vision, we are in the right direction. Hopefully we can be there very soon.”
“We are excited with him but now is the moment we need to manage them. Too easy they can be excited or down. They started the pre-season with us and we saw they can be good for us and decided to keep them with us.”
“I have learnt many things. To play games every three days in different competitions has been a journey in terms of learning and I think that all season, we have had some bad moments, some good moments, but I think the club has shown it has a vision. We are at the beginning of this vision, overall it’s a good one, it can become very good if we finish in the right way.”
“Fantastic, top. The history of what he has done is fanstastic everywhere. At West Ham I had chance to have a chat with him a few times, he’s another manager that in England can be considered a legend.
“For me the future is now, [his longevity] shows again how good he is and that he’s still there is fantastic.
“They’re going to show me a few places I can sit, then I will choose. I think in the moment I need to think a little bit more, I feel sorry because I would like to be there but the ones who are there for me will do their best.”
“This season has already been a good season. That doesn’t mean we are not going to try and finish top five. That’s our target, since March we’ve said our target is Champions League. We’re going to try until the end, unfortunately now we are behind, we need to try and finish.”
“He was on the bench against Fulham and some more games. He’s back, he’s training with us. We’re going to try the same as we are with Reece James. We know we need to use them step-by-step, with James it’s working quite well.”
