Live updates from today’s Premier League pre-match press conferences
There is good news for Tottenham, however, with Cristian Romero fit to face Leeds after missing the draw with Bodo/Glimt.
Thomas Frank says striker Randal Kolo Muani will miss out for Spurs again when they face Leeds, but has been training with the team.
Amorim on the criticism from former Man Utd players: “It’s normal, and you cannot run away from the results. Then you have the baggage from last season but last season for me doesn’t matter.
“We’ve had six games this season and we lost three. We have to look at the games we lost.”
Ruben Amorim says his system is not to blame for recent defeats.
“I’m not saying this team would play better in a different system or not. That is not my point. My point is that if I look at the games we didn’t win, the most important thing when I watch the game, it’s not that we lost because of the system.
“That is my opinion. People have different opinions, and that’s okay.”
Amid reports Jurrien Timber is in line for a new deal, Arteta praises the way he has responded to his injury setback soon after joining the club.
Arteta says he is in regular communication with Thomas Tuchel about his players and says there will likely be a conversation about the winger’s fitness after his recent injury.
“Myles has probably not played as many minutes as he would have liked, but he is professional in the way he has been engaging with his team and he gives you the possibility to count on him.”
Mikel Arteta on whether Gabriel can play this weekend: “We will have to wait and see after training. We will have to see how everyone is, but we are not too concerned about him.
“[Piero Hincapie] will be available after the international break, this game came too fast.”
Guardiola says Doku has been “magnificent” but still has a lot left to learn.
“He’s still young and has a lot of things he has to improve. Understanding the game defensively and offensively.”
“Rodri could not play three days before because his knee was in a bad, bad, bad condition so that’s why.
“Nico Gonzalez in the 30 minutes he played had the most ball recoveries. We concede less transitions and conceded more in the first half when Rodri was playing.
“I would love to tell you yes it’s because Rodri was not on the pitch we conceded the goal but I cannot prove that because if I felt it, Rodri would be on the pitch.
“Rodri cannot play 90 minutes for many, many games. Nico played really good against Burnley. He’s learning and improving and we need him because Kova is not ready and Rodri cannot sustain yet the rhythm for games and games for 90 minutes.
“He made an incredible effort the week against United, Napoli and Arsenal. I try to protect my players.”
Guardiola was asked about City conceding against Monaco after Rodri went off.
“Are you suggesting they score because Nico Gonzalez was on the pitch and not Rodri? How do you prove that? Me neither, so change the subject.”
Guardiola on Foden’s absence from the England squad: “Thomas (Tuchel) knows what he needs for the national team a trillion times more than me.
“If Phil carries on like he’s playing, he will be back.”
Pep Guardiola on Rodri and the rest of his squad’s fitness: “We’ll train this afternoon but it looks good. Everybody finished without problems.”
Pep Guardiola is due to speak to the media any time now.
Some positive news for Spurs ahead of Thomas Frank’s press conference later with Rodrigo Bentancur signing a new deal with the club.

Read more from the Chelsea boss on whether his side have a discipline problem, and the defensive issues ahead of Liverpool: Maresca denies Chelsea have ‘discipline problem’ and confirms defensive shortage for Liverpool clash

“I consider them the best team in England at the moment. They showed that, they won the Premier League. Where we are in this moment, we’re improving, we’re trying to solve problems, find solutions. At the end, we’re going to be there – close.”
Maresca confirms Palmer won’t be back this weekend.
Maresca also says Estevao reminds him a bit of Cole Palmer when he coached him at Man City because, like Palmer, he can see him moving from a wide position to more centrally.
He adds that it is very important to be “physically prepared” to play as a number ten though.

Maresca says Benoit Badiashile is an “important player” for his team, and says injuries have held him back.
Maresca says he “really trusts” his young players, including Josh Acheampong.
The Blues will be without several key defenders tomorrow against Liverpool so could turn to Acheampong.
Enzo Maresca reiterates that injuries and red cards have been the main reason for his side’s disappointing results of late.
But he insists each red card situation must be looked at individually, rejecting the suggestion that there is a discipline problem.
Howe also revealed that Yoane Wissa’s recovery has been delayed by around two weeks, after seeing a specialist again.
“Yoane saw a specialist again yesterday for a check-up on his knee. We probably think now it’ll be eight weeks rather than six (from the point of the injury). It’s no recurrence or problem, just slightly longer.”
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has also been speaking to the media this morning, and confirmed Tino Livramento is set for around two months out.
“He went to see a specialist a couple of days ago because the scan maybe looked better than we initially thought. The specialist confirmed it’s roughly an eight-week injury. A blow to lose him, but for what It could have been it is good news.”
Arne Slot backs under fire Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.
“If you’re losing a game of football, it doesn’t help if you lose the ball a few times very easily. He’s been one of them, definitely not the only one, because against Galatasaray I think apart from the penalty they maybe had three or four moments all from us losing a very simple ball without any pressure.
“That happened to him once in the Crystal Palace game and once against Galatasaray so if you lose a game of football, there’s so much focus on that moment and all of a sudden the 90 minutes has been very poor which is not the way I analyse a game, especially not afterwards where I have the time to watch it one more time and see what we did well and what we did wrong
“But in the last two games it’s been obvious and clear that we’ve made a few errors, not only him but also others, that we’re not used to. If you do things we’re not used to and lose a game of football, normally he and the other ones, the manager, gets criticised.”
