Ruben Amorim says he is a big believer in Mason Mount’s ability and backed the midfielder to shine under his management.
Mount impressed in United’s 3-2 Europa League win over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday but has endured a torrid time with injuries since his arrival at the club last summer.
He managed just 14 Premier League appearances last season and has played in just four of the opening 12 league games this campaign.
But having recovered from his latest injury setback, Amorim is backing the former Chelsea man to have a big impact at the club.
“The first thing is that he is working really hard,” Amorim said ahead of United’s game against Everton on Sunday.
“You have to understand the human also. He wants this really bad and that is the most important thing.
“I think he’s proven that he is a talented player. He was a European champion and we believe a lot in him.
“He has to stay fit and like all the guys in the team, they are quality players, but they have to improve and believe in themselves.
“He did a great job (against Bodo/Glimt) and you see some moments and details, where you can see that Mason Mount is a proper footballer so we believe a lot in him. I, especially, believe a lot in Mason Mount.”
