Fulham manager Marco Silva heaped praise on Arsenal ahead of their clash at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Arsenal host Fulham having already won their opening two games of the season, beating Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace by one goal each.

And Silva believes the north London outfit will be even stronger this year following a summer spending spree which has seen Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and David Raya all arrive at the club,

“They are coming off a great season, they weren’t champions, but the way they played and fought, it was really impressive,” Silva said.

“This year, they were able to improve the squad, with very good signings at the right timings, such as Declan [Rice], [Kai] Haverz and [Jurrien] Timber. This gives them a chance to plan the season and prepare the season and to be with their teammates.

“For me it’s clear that there is a plan then and they execute the plan well and I believe there will be a stronger Arsenal this season.”

“When the two players they signed went straight into starting 11, this means they reinforced very well in the midfield and show the impact of the two players.

“I understand the wingers have the skills and the quality and they are both impressive.

“Even in the absence of Jesus, Nketiah is doing a really good job, he’s always been a good solution for them but with the three players in the middle, the way they build, we have to be ready for sure.”
