Spurs confirm defender has suffered serious injury while midfielder misses training ahead of Champions League clash

Tottenham have confirmed that Ben Davies has undergone surgery on a fractured ankle.

The defender suffered the injury during the 2-1 defeat to West Ham and is now set for an extended period on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, midfielder Joao Palhinha was absent from training ahead of the Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.

The Portugal international missed the game against West Ham and looks set to remain sidelined for Tuesday’s clash.
