Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma had to be taken off on a stretcher after suffering an injury while playing for his national team Mali.

Bissouma has struggled with injury this season and has yet to make an appearance for Tottenham so far this campaign.

But he returned to action for Mali in their game against Madagascar, coming on as a 66th minute substitute.

He would play for just a matter of minutes, however, suffering a heavy challenge which forced him off on a stretcher.

It is unclear as of yet how severe the 29-year-old’s injury is and how long he could be sidelined for, with the former Brighton man set to undergo further assessment.
