FULL TIME: 1-0 Tottenham

Somehow, after everything that transpired, that game has finished 1-0. It was a frenzy at times, bereft of quality, but it was also difficult to look away, such was the entertainment.

It’s a huge win for Spurs and a crushing blow for United. Maddison’s goal in the 13th minute ultimately settled it.

A lot to reflect on for both sides.

Change for Spurs

Heung-min Son goes off for the returning Wilson Odobert. If Spurs go on to win this, coupled with the fact some players have returned, this may be one of their sweetest wins of the season

Changes for Spurs

Archie Gray and Yves Bissouma replace Kevin Danso and Rodrigo Bentancur. Seems both outgoing players could be injured

75'
It's becoming very end-to-end

It’s opened up and both sides are having constant chances. Honestly it’s a surprise only one goal has been scored

70'
Zirkzee has had a very good performance

Despite the scoreline, a positive for Amorim will be the performance of Joshua Zirkzee. The big Dutchman has been impressive. Hopefully for United, he can keep it up

64'
Changes for Spurs

Substitutions for Spurs. Brennan Johnson and Pape Sarr replace James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall.

63'
Chances for both sides

The game feels in a critical position. The next goal feels very important and both teams are pushing hard to get it.

55'
Another chance for Garnacho

Arguably United’s two best chances have fallen to Garnacho. He certainly did better with this effort than he did the first. But still, Vicario saves comfortably

53'
Chance for Spurs

Died Spence does brilliantly near the byline and whips in a ball that no one can get on the end of. It’s still 1-0 and the game is starting to feel a bit nervy

Casemiro has struggled out there

Casemiro has been thrown in to the United team due to injury and illness, and it’s not been easy for him. The Brazilian was struggling to keep up with the pace of the Premier League last season, and it’s only gotten worse a year on

Protests haven't seemed to dampen the Spurs mood
Certainly work to be done
It's a young bench for United....
46'
HALF TIME

There’s half time. It remains 1-0 Tottenham courtesy of James Maddison. Ruben Amorim will certainly be the more worried of the two managers. His side have been leaving gaps all over the pitch and missed a great chance to draw level

40'
Casemiro booked

Casemiro is booked for a foul on Son. The ball was never there to be won

35'
Gary Neville lambasts United

Gary Neville has called United’s structure ’embarrassing’ and says that it wouldn’t be seen in Under 9’s football….

29'
Maddison has started brilliantly here

It’s his first game back in the side since the 23rd of January but you wouldn’t know it from Maddison’s performance so far. He’s been instrumental in Spurs’ attacking play

26'
Tel comes close!

Chances are coming thick and fast for both teams here. New Spurs signing Mathys Tel comes close with an effort shot straight at Onana. You feel there are goals in this one

23'
Garnacho misses a SITTER

Well Garnacxho has just had the chance of the match and scuffed it. In space, in the box, and he leaned back and skied it

22'
Hojlund and Zirkzee off to bright start

Both Zirkzee and Hojlund have started brightly and Zirkzee got a shot off that wasn’t too far away

18'
It's the worst possible start for United

Ruben Amorim’s side are 15th, below Everton. The last thing they needed was an early goal being conceded. A test of their mentality now…..

13'
GOAL FOR TOTTENHAM

GOAL for TOTTENHAM and it’s a goal for James Maddison. The Englishman is back in the team and back on the scoresheet. He was quickest to react after Bergvall’s shot, and tidied up the rebound. United’s defenders were simply too slow to react

10'
CHANCE for United

Alejandro Garnacho almost opens the scoring with a beautiful curled effort and Diogo Dalot fails to clean up the rebound
