Tottenham 2-3 Aston Villa LIVE – Spurs beaten despite scoring first league goals of the season

Despite a late fightback Villa earn all three points.

Van Hecke scores Spurs’ second goal.

Robertson’s cross into the box is met by Van de Ven who heads just wide of the goal.

Maddison’s free kick is on target, but Suzuki does well to save.

Savio wins a free kick just outside the area.

Just like in midweek, Gallagher scores a consolation goal for Spurs.

McGinn and Kamara are replaced by Barkley and Mbaye.

Tonali and Bentancur make way for Spurs. Bergvall and Gallagher are on.

And it’s another world-class goal.

Buendia lines up an effort from 25 yards out and finds the top corner of the net.

Hemmings is on for Manzambi as Villa look to hold out this two goal advantage.

Sandro Tonali tries to get one back from range that goes just wide of the post.

An incredible goal from Aston Villa.

Nicolas Jackson take a bow.

James Maddison is on for Dominic Solanke.

Nevermind… the goal is ruled out for offside.

Mohammed Kudus scores Spurs’ first Premier League goal of the season.

It’s a scrappy one, but it’s in the net.

Another chance for Villa.

Manzambi plays Jackson in behind. The striker gets to it before Kinsky, but the keeper is in the way of the effort towards goal.

Jackson gets us back underway here.

Kudus replaces Fernandes for Spurs at half-time. Cash is on for Wan-Bissaka for Villa.

Same old story for Spurs, a different one for Villa.

Spurs played well throughout the half and should have been ahead, but failed to take their chances. With Van de Ven off the pitch receiving treatment, Villa took their chance.

Jan Paul van Hecke is in the book for bringing down Jackson on the break.

Very poor from Robertson.

The Scot keeps the ball in allowing McGinn to find Manzambi in the area to pass home.

Five minutes added on, but Van de Ven is still down receiving treatment.

UPDATE: The defender is back on his feet and speaking with the medical staff, Spurs to play with ten

The Spurs captain is down holding his head after a clash of heads following a free kick.

Another player who has recently returned from injury. Manzambi is being treated by the Villa medical staff.

UPDATE: the midfielder is moving and ready to get back into the action.

A Savio corner is flicked onto Solanke at the back post, who heads towards goal, but Manzambi blocks the header. Spurs believe it was blocked with his arm, but the referee said play on.
