LIVE updates as Tottenham take on Brighton in the Premier League.

De Zerbi: We can win five games in a row

“We have another five games, 15 points, and this team is able to win five games in a row.

“Now it’s difficult to hear my words but if you watch the players, if you analyse the level of the players, I think we can win five games in a row.

“Not to be arrogant, because I’m not arrogant, especially now, but we have the qualities to fight and to win games in a row.

“They have not to think but to follow me. They have to listen to me. I’m proud of the performance. They have to be stronger and to be focused just on the next game and to come in on Monday with a smile because otherwise they go immediately.

“I have no time to see negative people, to see sad players or sad assistant coaches. No. We are lucky because we are working in a big club, big stadium, we are working in the Premier League. We have the right qualities to win the game so we have to be positive because I don’t like people who cry, who think in a negative way.”

De Zerbi on Danso's error

“Danso lost the ball and we concede the goal but I prefer a mistake with the personality to play, than to concede without personality. We need courage now. We need to win the game and to win the game we have to be positive and to play football and not stay just defending and counter-attacking.”

De Zerbi: I'm lucky to have Simons

De Zerbi on Xavi Simons: “He played a great game. I think he can play better and better because a player like this, he needs to feel confidence from the manager and I’m here to give him the confidence he needs. I was a player, I was a number 10, and I think I know what he thinks because I thought the same when I was a player.

“I’m lucky to have him on my team but also he’s lucky because as a number 10, I can understand better than other coaches.”

Porro: No time for disappointment

Spurs defender Pedro Porro: “I think after the game we don’t have time for the disappointment. For me and my team-mates, the best thing is keep pushing, keep going.

“I think the team today was very good. I think first half was very good for us. The team pressed very well. I think the most important thing now is staying positive.”

De Zerbi says he feels for his players

Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi: “I am sorry for the result, for the players because they are suffering too much. Today we deserved to win the game against one great Brighton. A big congratulations for their style, their level of players and everything. We couldn’t concede that goal from Rutter.

“I am positive but I am proud of my players. They played a fantastic game with character and spirit. We have to be stronger than this result, we have to move on and prepare the next game and try to win the game at Wolves. If you are strong like today, I think we can compete again.”
