LIVE updates from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Spurs take on Leeds United in the Premier League.

Spurs deserve to stay up says De Zerbi

“I think we deserve to stay up. We fight until the end. When you fight relegation, you have to stay strong not with the legs but in the head, and push until the end.”

De Zerbi questions referee

“I think the referee was not in the right condition today. I didn’t see the situation of Maddison. I think the panic of yesterday with West Ham and Arsenal was difficult for everyone.

“After one minute they told me to stay in the technical area. I didn’t understand why. It’s an important game at a crucial part of the season.”

De Zerbi on Tel's error

“I will kiss him and hug him. He doesn’t need too many words. He was sorry for the mistake but it can happen for a young player to make a bad mistake in that situation.”

De Zerbi reflects on the point

Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi: “We play a good game, not great, but there was big pressure. We didn’t play calm, we wanted to win immediately without patience.

“Leeds played a good game, we hope they play like this in the next game against West Ham.

“Mathys Tel had a great game but maybe in the situation (Leeds’ penalty), he’s a bit young, but it’s not a problem for me. He showed the right spirit.

“Fighting relegation is like this, you can’t play all game with calm and the right quality. We have to improve and change the habits.”

Leeds boss Farke delighted to see Maddison back

Daniel Farke, who managed James Maddison at Norwich, says he was delighted to see the midfielder return after a year out.

“It’s great to see him back because if you love football and you love a baller then you also love James Maddison. He can be unbelievable and is one of the most creative players in this country.

“Of course it was difficult for him after being out for so long to come into this crunch moment, but the affect he can have, he has shown in the last minutes. He was smart, he knows how to win a free-kick or what he has to do in the box, perhaps to win a penalty. Great set pieces, great delivery, a top character. Fingers crossed he can stay fit and healthy.”

Farke proud of Leeds' fight

Leeds boss Daniel Farke: “Sometimes you have to show steel in a difficult away game.

“When you go 1-0 down, sometimes you can crumble, but not us. We showed we didn’t want to lose the game and stepped up.”
