Tottenham 0-2 Newcastle LIVE – Elanga and Wissa goals hand Jaissle first Premier League win

Newcastle striker Yoane Wissa on his manager:”Eddie Howe did a top job and the new manager  [Matthias Jaissle] came with a new identity and that [first goal] is something we have been working on. Every part of the game we are really precise. He is a really dynamic manager, so we have to give everything and I think he is the best signing of Newcastle so far.”

Newcastle continue to impress this season; the same cannot be said for Spurs.

Tottenham were dominant for much of the match, but goals from Elanga and Wissa ensure Newcastle take home the three points.

Spurs created a lot of chances in the first half and early in the second, were well on top for much of the game, but have not been able to make it count.

They will have to turn things around quickly if they are to have a better season than the previous two.

Sven Botman is in the book after a poor challenge after the referee had already blown his whistle for a foul on Solanke.

Sandro Tonali is replaced by Dominic Solanke, one final throw of the dice from De Zerbi.

Wissa doubles Newcastle’s lead.

The ball is loose from a corner and he flicks it past Kinksy in the Spurs goal.

Joe Willock is replaced by Nick Woltemade and Nico Gonzalez is off for Sean Steur.

Archie Gray, Andy Robertson and Mathys Tel are replaced by Mohammed Kudus, Mikey Moore and Destiny Udogie.

Tonali wins a free kick just on the edge of the box after being fouled by Nico Gonzalez, chance for Spurs.

Elanga opens the scoring for Newcastle with a sublime finish.

The Swede picks the ball up in the box, swivels, and fires past Kinsky, off the post and in.

He nutmegs his man before letting fly from 35 yards out, the shot goes wide, but the fans are excited.

Mohammed Kudus has been out since January with a hamstring issue. He is given loud cheers by the home crowd as he warms up

Thiaw looks to have brought down Marmoush in the area. Sours fans want a penalty, but not given by the referee.

Tel almost makes their latest chance as he flashes a ball across the box which Tonali just cannot get anything on.

They’ll want a goal before the break.

Spurs almost have another golden chance to take the lead.

Marmoush finds Porro free on the right, he has Tel to aim for in the middle completely unmarked, but his cross is claimed by Hornicek.

Almost 1-0 Spurs there.

Fernandes finds Van Hecke from a corner. The Dutchman from four yards out heads goalwards but Hornicek somehow reacts quickly and saves.

Marmoush has his first chance for Spurs.

A deep Fernandes corner finds him at the back post, but he can only direct his effort wide.

Wissa almost has a golden chance.

Elanga heads the ball across to the striker who has the ball taken off his toes from six yards out by Van de Ven and the last second.

A Spurs corner falls to Pedro Porro on the volley and with his left foot he fires a strike just over the bar.

Tel finds Robertson in behind down the left, his cross almost finds Marmoush, but falls to Tonali on the volley. The Italian miscues his kick to Porro whose shot from eight yards out is just blocked behind by Hall.
