Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of striker Tammy Abraham from Besiktas.

Abraham returns to the club having spent a season on loan at the Villains in the 2018/19 campaign.

The 28-year-old has since had spells at Roma and AC Milan before joining Besiktas this season.

Meanwhile, Villa are also hoping to complete the signing of another of their former players in Douglas Luiz.

The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Juventus, but is expected to cut short his spell at Forest and head to Villa for the rest of the campaign.

Villa have been left short in the centre of midfield, with John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara and Ross Barkley currently sidelined.

There are also concerns over Youri Tielemans, who was forced off in the win over Newcastle.
