WATCH: Arteta adamant there is still a lot to do at Arsenal

Mikel Arteta believes there is still a lot to achieve at Arsenal as his side go in such of Premier League and Champions League glory.

The Gunners head into their Champions League Round of 16 second leg tie against FC Porto trailing 1-0, with the chance at a first appearance in the quarter-finals in 14 years at stake.

After coming through a tough match against Brentford, Arteta is expecting the north Londoners to face a similar battle against their Portuguese opponents, but is adamant they are up to the tasks compared to previous attempts in European competitions.

“We went out of the Europa League after going ahead and losing in the last minute and against Sporting on penalties,” Arteta said. “The details and margins are so small and that’s a huge part in this type of knockout games.

“Everything is going well, we keep improving and are stronger year after year, but obviously there’s still a lot to do, a lot to achieve.

“We don’t need anymore motivation that what is ahead of us if we do our job tomorrow.

“We have to build it slowly and tomorrow we have a big chance of doing a bit of that.

“We have a very experienced and top referee tomorrow and we have to focus on doing our job and leaving that to them.”
