WATCH: Arteta praises Havertz’s ‘huge impact’ at Arsenal this season

Mikel Arteta lauded Arsenal forward Kai Havertz for his performance in the 3-0 win over Brighton.

Havertz scored his side’s second of the game as the Gunners went back to the top of the Premier League table, tapping in from close range from Jorginho’s cut-back.

And Arteta praised the Germany international’s work rate in helping to secure the win while backing him to continue in his current vein of form.

“He was tremendous again today,” Arteta told Sky Sports.

“His level of performance has been superb, now his goal contributions has been higher than anybody else’s in the last few months and that tells the story about his work rate.

“He was chasing 70 metres here. A player who has this heart and this determination, that’s why everybody loves him.”

In his post-match press conference, Arteta continued: “He’s certainly having a huge impact on the team and his overall performance has been really good.

“Now he has to maintain that level. I think the understanding between the attacking players today was superb, I think they had real purpose and connection and a lot of clarity of how to attack against them.

“We created many chances.”
