WATCH: Danilo praises Arteta, Arsenal and the three Gabriel’s

Brazil defender Danilo spoke of his admiration for the work Mikel Arteta has done at Arsenal, as well as praising the three Brazilian Gabriel’s.

Speaking ahead of Brazil’s friendly clash against England on Saturday night, the Juventus defender explained how the absence of Gunners trio Gabriel Martinelli, Jesus and Magalhaes will be a big loss for his side.

The 32-year-old also praised their manager Mikel Arteta for the work he has done at the north Londoners, having worked with the Spaniard at Manchester City.

“It will be a big loss for us tomorrow because the three Gabriel’s, Martinelli, Jesus and Magalhaes,” Danilo said. “They are important players for the national team even if they weren’t all in the squad.

“I hope they can recover soon and well and I’ve been following Arsenal a little bit this season and they play so good.

“I know Arteta pretty well, he’s a good coach with good energy and it’s a great team to watch and learn.”

The Brazilian also briefly spoke on his former teammates Kyle Walker and Phil Foden, who are expected to feature in some capacity at Wembley.

“At the time I arrived there Foden was 16, 17, he was so, so young. I didn’t know him, but after the first training session together my reaction was ‘wow, this guy will be important in football’.

“The way he plays today, he shows all his strengths and abilities, for me I’m happy to see him playing in this way.

“Walker was a bit partner because we are both right backs but not opponents. We were friends and partners who were speaking all the time on how to improve and be better in the game to help Manchester City.

“It was great times.”
