Man City 2-1 Bournemouth LIVE – Gvardiol completes late comeback for Maresca’s side

Man City boss Enzo Maresca: “The spirit was fantastic. I think it’s a game we deserved to win, a game that we probably didn’t need to wait until the last five minutes to win the game, it’s a game that we deserved to win early for the amount of chances we had.”

City get across the line and earn a victory in Maresca’s first league game. It was not the prettiest or most convincing but they will certainly be happy with the three points.

For Bournemouth, in their first match under their new manager, there will be plenty of positives to take. They ultimately go home defeated but it was a strong showing.

VAR awards the goal and City complete a stunning late turnaround.

Bournemouth are shell-shocked.

City go in at the break behind during Maresca’s first league game in charge. They may feel unlucky, given they have been on top and had chances.

Nevertheless, at the back City do not seem fully aware of their roles in the new system, repeatedly leaving gaps which have been exposed brilliantly by Bournemouth. The vistors have broken forward effectively when given the opportunity, whilst remaining compact at the back themselves.
