Live updates from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea take on Luton in the Carabao Cup.

There’s a goalmouth scramble in the Luton box and the ball falls for Joao Pedro who fires at goal, but Keeley denies him.

It looks so easy for Chelsea out there.
The win looks sealed and they’re looking comfortable.
Luton are trying to make the match competitive but the difference in quality is stark.
Estevao is replaced by Jamie Gittens.

Valentin Barco recovers the ball well and gives the ball to Palmer, who releases Estevao and he beats his man before firing a shot at goal which rifles in off Hakeem Odoffin.
Kasey Palmer and Callum Marshall are replaced by Nahki Wells and Devante Cole.
Palmer wins Chelsea a corner but he’s in a bit of pain from the challenge.
The subsequent corner is cleared.
Joao Pedro replaces Danny Welbeck, but he’s not allowed onto the pitch yet as Welbeck took too long to come off the pitch.
Xabi Alonso is furious and Pedro can finally come on.
Reece James, Malo Gusto and Morgan Rogers are replaced by Pedro Neto, Jorrel Hato and Romeo Lavia.
Kasey Palmer fires from range, and his shot goes narrowly wide of the post.

Almost a wonderful goal from Cole Palmer, who strikes at goal first time but the ball grazes the Luton crossbar.

So close to a second for Chelsea and Welbeck, but his effort goes wide.

Chelsea go forward for a second with Palmer leading the charge, but he can only win the Blues a corner.
The corner comes to nothing.
Chelsea strike first and it’s Danny Welbeck who gets the opener.
The forward leaps highest to meet Malo Gusto’s cross to score his first goal for the club.
Luton started off the first half very well, winning a corner inside 30 seconds.
Since then they have been a lot more proactive in trying to win the ball off Chelsea.
