WATCH: Arsenal legend Parlour says Gunners fans are helping players overcome tiredness

Gunners legend Ray Parlour says tiredness among the players should not be a concern for Arsenal fans when it comes to the title race.

Arsenal remain top of the Premier League table by a point heading into Sunday’s game against struggling Manchester United but having played a game more than title than their rivals.

The Gunners were also involved in the Champions League this season, unlike during their previous title push last campaign, but Parlour says any concerns about tiredness impacting the players are misplaced and praised the fans for the impact they are having.

“You’ve got to see what’s at stake, you can’t feel tired,” he told NetBet Sports Betting.

“It’s easy for someone to say you look tired and then you feel tired. I think you have to find something from somewhere and I always could do that.

“I was pretty strong mentally to say look, I’ve got to keep running for the team here. I’ve got to close people down. If I switch off, I have no excuses after the game saying I feel leggy.

“What they are playing for at the moment is such a big prize, it’s the Premier League. I can understand that players do play a lot of games now but you never get a bigger buzz than walking out in a football stadium in front of 50 or 60,000. I’d rather do that than train every day.

“The training now won’t be a lot, it will be ticking over. Arsene Wenger, when we had three games a week, we’d be ticking over most of the days and just making sure your body is ready for the next game.

”That’s probably the sort of stuff they are doing now. You can’t get any fitter now, it’s about keeping fit and not getting injured.

”They must be buzzing at the moment because the Emirates has been absolutely rocking this year. For the players to play in front of that atmosphere week in, week out, you must get a buzz out of that.

“You can’t feel tired and I think the lads have shown that. They’ve really run that extra mile for the fans as well.”
