Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Thomas Partey is set to return to Arsenal’s match-day squad for Monday night’s trip to Sheffield United.
The Ghanian midfielder returned to training last week but didn’t make it into the squad for games against Porto and Newcastle United.
He hasn’t featured for Arsenal since October’s 1-0 win over Manchester City, but now his manager has said he is ready to be part of the match-day squad.
“Thomas had a session before the last game, now he’s done two or three consecutive sessions so he should be part of the squad on Monday,” he said.
And asked about the possible returns of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu, the Arsenal boss said: “Those ones it’s possible but we’ll have to wait and see.”
Gabriel Jesus, an unused substitute against Newcastle United, could return to action while long-term absentee Jurrien Timber is back in training but is not yet ready to make a comeback.
