Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will face FC Porto in the round of 16 in the Champions League. Meanwhile the holders of the trophy Manchester City will travel to FC Copenhagen, before hosting the Danish side at the Etihad in the second leg.
As group winners, both Manchester City are Arsenal are scheduled to play their second legs at their stadium, having to make the journeys across Europe for their first legs in mid February 2024.
Arsenal accumulated 13 points from their six Champions League group games and scoring 16 goals in the process, winning the group by four points, with PSV finishing runners up. Manchester City topped their group with a perfect 18 points, scoring 18 goals, averaging three per game.
FC Copenhagen have already played an English team in this year’s competition, in Manchester United. The Danes narrowly lost 1-0 at Old Trafford but stunned Erik ten Hag’s side in their home tie, winning 4-3 in the Danish capital.
FC Porto fended off pressure from Shakhtar and Antwerp to finish runners up to Barcelona, with the Portuguese side missing out on top spot on goal differene.
