Live updates from the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal look to make it to the Champions League final by beating Atletico Madrid.

Arteta says Gyokeres was 'immense'

“He was immense. You could see the reaction of the crowd every time he was holding the ball. His work rate, what he gave the team, was just incredible.”

Arteta praises 'special' Saka

“It had to be someone very special and he certainly is very special for me, the boys, for everybody, that’s for sure. If it was going to be anybody scoring that goal, it probably had to be him.”

Arteta hails the togetherness of his Arsenal squad

“Some of them, I talked to them this afternoon and apologised and said I am going to play the same team. The reaction was ‘boss, I am here when you need me, I’m going to be right with the team’ and gave me a hug. What else can I want?”

Arteta: Our supporters set the standards

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta: “It’s an amazing night to live this kind of moment with our people, our players and everybody at the club. It’s just an incredible feeling. It makes sense, a lot of the things that we do and we go through when you see so many happy faces and so many people proud of what we are doing.

“It was unbelievable right from the beginning, the manner that our supporters waited for us to arrive at the stadium, the energy, the passion that they put in, it was just great to witness it.

“They set the standards and we tried to catch up with them.”

Saka: How can you not expect pressure?

More from Saka: “There’s no way you’re going to come to this position and not have pressure. We’re in the semi-finals of the Champions League, now we’re in the final, and we’re fighting for the Premier League so how can you not expect for people to talk about you and criticise you?

“That’s why we have to block it out, focus on getting the job done and we did that.

“It’s a beautiful story and I hope it ends well in Budapest.”

Saka hails the Arsenal fans

“It started before the game when we were arriving on the coach. I’ve never seen anything like it. They pushed us and pushed us and pushed us and they got this moment in the end so we’re celebrating together.”
