Live updates from HaytersTV reporter James St Denis at Wembley Stadium as Arsenal face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup Final.

Guardiola does not think today's win will impact Premier League title race

“I would like to have nine points in front of Arsenal.

“It will have no impact. Different competitions and they will be (focused) when they come to the Etihad, I don’t know what the situation will be.

“That title helps us a lot for the quarter final against Liverpool at home, that’s for sure, with our people.

“For that game it will help us but the Premier League is in their hands. I think they punish us a lot.

“There were two periods when we were incredible, top, top, top. Against Sunderland, that magnificent game we played there, and Chelsea and Brighton at home.

“These draws, they punish us a lot in terms of points, against Nottingham Forest and West Ham in the last ones.

“But we have one game in hand, we have Arsenal at home and (then) three points difference.

“But is that team going to drop points? We’re going to try to win our games and we’ll see what happens.”

Guardiola on being booked for his celebrations

“I am not artificial intelligence. I am a human being. I want to celebrate it. It was not disrespect to Arsenal or for the other fans, it’s just to celebrate with my people. I am a human being and when I have emotions, I shout to the referees or I celebrate, I express it.”

Guardiola admits even he is surprised by O'Reilly's emergence

“It’s a surprise even for me. The season he has done so far is extraordinary.”

Guardiola says City still have plenty more to do

“We are much better than last season of course, but still we are not the team we should be. That requires time and hopefully at the end of the season, next season, we can do it.”

Guardiola says he 'couldn't believe' how good his team was in second half

“The team is underneath and there is something that can flourish. Winning helps to anticipate the process.

“The players proved again, old ones and especially the new ones, that when we’re required to do something that during the season we are not consistent to do, especially without the ball, against that team Arsenal (we can).

“You achieve that level, or no chance, and today we achieved it, especially without the ball. With the ball, in the second half, against that team was unbelievable. I could not believe how good we have done it. “

Winning against Arsenal makes Carabao Cup win special, says Guardiola

Man City boss Guardiola on beating Arsenal: “Alongside Bayern Munich and maybe Barcelona as well, the best team in Europe.

“We made an incredible victory. In the end the Carabao Cup is not the Champions League or Premier League, everybody knows that, but winning against that team makes this title special.”

Eze injury update

Arteta on Eze’s calf injury: “We have to do another scan in six or seven days and wait and see the results.”

Arteta sets challenge for his players

“Have some perspective on it. What this team has done in the last eight months has been incredible and we’re going to use this disappointment and fire in the belly to have the most amazing two months that we’ve ever had together.”

Arteta on the criticism to start Kepa in goal following his mistake

“I understand that but I have to do what I feel is right and honest and what is fair.

“I think we have an outstanding keeper in Kepa. He’s played all the competition and I think it would have been very, very unfair for him and for the team to do something different.

“I can never promise players to play in certain competitions. In the end they have to earn it and they have to do enough, like any other position.

“We are guided by what we feel and when he’s done what he has done in the competition and he helped us to go all the way to here, I believe it’s the right thing to do.

“Errors are part of football and today unfortunately it happened in a crucial moment.”

Arteta 'disappointed and sad'

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta: “Very sad and a very hard one to take, especially for our players and our supporters because we know how much it means to them and how much we want it.

“The fact we’ve not been able to deliver that is disappointing and sad and it leaves a really bad taste.”

Haaland on O'Reilly's goals

Man City striker Erling Haaland on Nico O’Reilly: “It’s not the first time this season he’s done that.

“What a game from him and I’m so happy for him.”

Jubilant City scenes

Manchester City’s jubilant players before going to collect their winners’ medals.

Bernardo Silva reaction

City midfielder Bernardo Silva: “I think in the second half we tried to go at them a bit more and we felt that they lost a bit of energy.

“Nico O’Reilly is very good at arriving in the box.

“I’m really happy and proud of the boys because beating this side is not easy.”

Disappointed Arsenal

Arsenal’s players look understandably disappointed on their way to collect their runners up medals.

Match winner O'Reilly on his 'disbelief'

Two-goal here Nico O’Reilly: “It’s an unbelievable feeling to win a final, to beat this team, we know how good they are. Now we need to build on it. Buzzing with today.

“A bit of disbelief seeing all the fans cheering like that when I scored the goals.”

Trafford savours special moment

Man City goalkeeper James Trafford on his early saves: “They’re obviously big saves in the moment because it’s quite early on. I’m just here to play my part in it.

“This moment means a lot to me, obviously to win. Four or five years ago I was third choice when we beat Spurs and I always imagined I’d win it.

“It hasn’t been easy at all (not playing this season), really, really tough at times, but I have an incredible set of people around me, the coaches.”
