Arteta asked if he cares what managers say

Do you care what other managers say? “It depends.”

On the manager? “Yeah, and the comments. And the purpose of that.”

Arteta on home fans booing his side

“When we are in the position we are in, they want to take that away from you. That’s normal. That’s the sport.

“We need to take that with normality and we need to to confront it in the right way.”

Arteta responds to Hurzeler criticism

“What a surprise.

“You go back to the previous games and you will find a lot of comments like this. Always.

“I love my players. That’s the highlight. I love the way we compete.

“I think they love our players. Every time they talk about our players, they are the most loved ones in the country.”

Arteta praises 'remarkable result'

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta: “It’s a huge win. We knew how tough it was going to be.

“We’re coming off a lot of difficult games with a lot of intensity and players going through every game with difficulties and not able to train and to come here and get a result is remarkable.”

Hurzeler: Is this what supporters are paying for?

“Where will this go in the future? That’s my question. Where will this go?

“One game we play 60 minute natural time and then when you play Arsenal only 50 minutes? Then it’s ten minutes difference. Is this what the supporters are paying for?  You get my point.”

More criticism from Hurzeler on Arsenal

“There’s different kinds of winning. If they win the Premier League, no one will ask how they win the Premier League. I think you can feel they want to do everything they can to win this game.

“In the end it’s about the rules. If the Premier League and the referee allow everything then it’s difficult.

“At the moment I have the feeling they are doing their own rules no matter how they are playing.

“Overall, like I said, I will never be that kind of manager who tries to win in that way. I want to develop players, I want my players to keep improving, and keep playing football on the pitch.

“In the end, every team will manage and waste time but I think there has to be a limit and the limit has to be set by the Premier League and set by the referees. At the moment they just do what they want.

“If I asked everyone here in the room did they really enjoy this football game I’m sure maybe one raises their arm because they are a big Arsenal fan but besides that, no chance.”

Hurzeler asked about Arsenal wasting time

“Did you see in a Premier League game, a goalkeeper going down three times?

“I don’t think we should waste too much words about that tonight. I think we should focus on us and our performance.

“We can’t control these kinds of things. The Premier League has to find a rule and it’s not my business.

“I made my point before the game and I stick to it.”

Fabian Hurzeler says 'only one team tried to play football'

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler: “In the end we lost so we are disappointed regardless of the performance.

“But I loved the effort from my boys. I loved how they played football. I think there was only one team who tried to play football today and therefore I’m proud of how they did it.

“We have to keep working on the details and keep improving the small margins in the final third.”

Gabriel on Arsenal's victory

Arsenal’s man of the match Gabriel: “We know the game we want to play but here is a very tough place to come and play well.

“More important is the way we compete to get the clean sheet and three points.”
