Read more reaction from Thomas Frank here: Thomas Frank on impressive performances from Spurs duo, Vicario frustration, Kolo Muani injury and ‘complete performance’ in draw with Brighton
More from Thomas Frank on the draw: “I know we conceded two goals, and it’s never that black and white. So one where we will say I should take it. The second one is, OK, we conceded a goal, that can happen. It’s just the Premier League, it’s good. But besides that, I thought we defended well.”
Frank also lauded the effort and work rate of summer signing Mohammed Kudus, as well as his hold up play.
Frank heaps praise on Destiny Udogie, saying he was “exceptional” throughout.
Thomas Frank admits Vicario could have done better for Brighton’s second goal but stresses he has been very good so far.
Spurs midfielder Joao Palhinha speaking to Sky Sports: “We leave this stadium feeling really, really sad because in my opinion we completely deserved to win the game. What we showed from the first minute, we dominated the game, created a lot of chances and arrived to the last third in a good shape. We suffered two goals against the run of play, but that’s football.
“At least what we can take is the mentality that we had fighting for the result. It’s not easy, losing 2-0 away and after you get a draw in a tough stadium like this, against a tough team like Brighton. Again we leave with the feeling that we could have taken the victory.”
Fabian Hurzeler speaking to Sky Sports: “In the moments that we conceded the goals, the timing was bad.
“I think how we conceded the goals was quite unlucky. Overall I was pleased with the performance. We created chances, had quite a few good transition moments, especially in the second half and we could finish the game earlier. In the end there were a lot of unlucky things.”
Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh speaking to Sky Sports after the game: “A little bit disappointed. We came here with the mentality to win and all of a sudden we share the points. It is not bad, we have one point but we need to try to win games at home.”
It’s all over as both sides share the points following van Hecke’s late own goal.
Reaction to follow.
Five minutes have been added on for either side to find a winner.
A late challenge from Romero sees him go in the book.
Pedro Porro and Lucas Bergvall also go off for Djed Spence and Archie Gray.
Simons looked in a bit of pain and was down for a couple of minutes but looks okay to carry on.
Ferdi Kadioglu comes off for Mats Wieffer.
Kudus’ cross hits Van Hecke and goes into the Brighton goal to level the score!
Romero quickly closes down Mitoma who was racing through on goal, before Vicario collects the ball.
Chances are coming now for Tottenham. Kudus does well down the right and cuts it back to the edge of the box but Simons again fails to convert, dragging his shot badly off target.
Xavi Simons close to his first Tottenham goal, Bart Verbruggen turns away his goal-bound effort from the edge of the box.
Brighton still in front but Tottenham very much in the ascendancy.
Xavi Simons replaces Bentancur on the hour for Spurs as Thomas Frank makes his first change.
Meanwhile, Richarlison escapes any punishment for an alleged elbow. Var were quick to dismiss the incident.
In a very similar pattern to the first half, Tottenham are dominating the ball and are beginning to get down the sides of the Brighton defence. Kudus has delivered a few dangerous balls so far. Brighton need to stand firm.
Brighton get us back underway for the second half. The hosts were forced into a half-time change with Gomez replacing the injured Baleba.
The referee brings an end to an enthralling first half at the Amex. Brighton leading but that Richarlison strike just before the break feels crucial.
Big team talk ahead for Thomas Frank.
Finally Tottenham get on the scoresheet. Richarlison on hand to profit from some sloppy Brighton play in midfield. The Brazilian reacts smartly to fire home from six yards.
Var checked for a potential foul in the build up but the goal has been given.
Brighton have been outstanding on the counter attack and Tottenham are growing in frustration as they try to mount a comeback.
The possession belongs with the visitors but the Seagulls look the more dangerous with five minutes left of the first half.
And Spurs are made to pay for their missed chances. Brighton midfielder Ayari picks the ball up from the edge of the box before unleashing a swirling drive which evades Vicario and flies into the corner! 2-0 to the hosts.
