Some huge ties to look forward to in this year’s Champions League, which kicks off next month.

Man City to face Real Madrid AGAIN

As is probably to be expected, among Man City’s opponents is Real Madrid, with the two sides having faced each other on many occasions over the years.

Europa League throwback for Spurs

Tottenham will face two of the teams they knocked out of last year’s Europa League, playing both Bodo/Glimt and Eintracht Frankfurt away!

Chelsea back against Barcelona

Chelsea have faced Barcelona plenty of times in Europe over the years and will do so again this year in what is a mouth-watering clash.

It’s been a while since the two played each other last.

Arsenal to revisit Bayern rivalry

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are set to renew their familiar Champions League rivalry, with the Gunners looking to turn the tide in a fixture that has historically favoured the German side.

Across 14 meetings in European competition, Bayern have won 8 times, while Arsenal have secured 3 victories and 3 draws. Their most recent encounter came in the 2023/24 Champions League quarter-finals, where Bayern advanced with a narrow 3-2 aggregate win.

Arsenal fans will also remember the 2016/17 round of 16 clash, where Bayern won 10-2 on aggregate, one of the heaviest defeats in Arsenal’s European history. However, the current Arsenal side, under Mikel Arteta, is markedly stronger and more competitive, having developed into consistent challengers both domestically and in Europe.

The Gunners last competitive win over Bayern came in 2015, when they earned a 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium in the group stage.

Trent Alexander-Arnold back at Liverpool

There are some huge ties for the English clubs, but perhaps none more so than Trent Alexander-Arnold returning to Anfield with Real Madrid.

You just knew that was going to happen…

That's the end of the draw
