Recent form
Arsenal have won six of their eight matches in all competitions so far this season – only failing to do so against Liverpool and Manchester City. The Gunners were strong in the league phase of the competition last season, especially at home, and they will expect to continue that trend tonight.
Olympiacos are unbeaten so far this season and occupy top spot in the Greek Super League. However, they are yet to face anyone with the strength of Arsenal and tonight’s game will be a real test for the Athens-based side.
What’s been said?
Ahead of the match, Arteta has praised summer signing Viktor Gyokeres. “In a really natural and organic way, I would say,” the manager said when asked how the Swedish striker is handling the pressure.
“He’s a really confident boy. His work ethic is incredible and the demands that he puts on himself every single day.
“It’s a joy to work with him. He gives so much to the team and the ceiling is very, very far for what he can still give to the team. Very happy with him.”
