Recent form

After dismantling Real in the first leg 3-0, Arsenal come into the second leg off the back of another draw in the Premier League, this time against Brentford. Thomas Partey opened the scoring on the hour mark before Yoane Wissa equalised for the Bees with 15 minutes to go.

Kylian Mbappe will return to the Real Madrid starting lineup after being sent off for a horror challenge on the weekend during Real’s 1-0 win over Alaves in La Liga.

What’s been said?

Mikel Arteta says it is “impossible” to control the noise about Real Madrid’s chances heading into the second leg: “Outside, we can do it on the pitch. Now I understand that it’s the narrative that is going to give the fuel to them. I understand that. It’s part of their history and they have the right to be talking about these kinds of scenarios.”

Carlo Ancelotti spoke on the expectation for his side to turn over the 3-0 deficit: “We have the quality to turn this tie around, along with the commitment, the experience and the fans. The resources are there, and now it’s time to bring our best. Mentally we’re doing very well, and we have to have good control of the game. The Santiago Bernabeu has magic, and everyone knows it’s a special atmosphere. Tomorrow we need a bit of everything.”
