Fabian Hurzeler hails Kai Havertz one of the best of the current contingent of German players as the Brighton boss devises a plan to try and stop ‘one of the best teams in the world’.
With two wins from two, Hurzeler has made a very impressive start at Brighton having joined from 2. Bundesliga champions St. Pauli in the summer.
Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United was hugely encouraging but now the Premier League’s youngest manager embarks on his toughest test to date.
When asked to pinpoint Arsenal’s biggest threat, Hurzeler responded: “I could mention every player.
“Odegaard has something special, Havertz I like the way he plays. He’s one of the best German players we have. Saka can decide a game in one situation.
“They have Martinelli, they have Trossard on the other side. Very good defensive players. Rice a good box-to-box player. I can mention all their names.”
Off the pitch, Hurzeler is just as appreciative of the work done by Mikel Arteta in developing Arsenal into a winning machine and one of the most feared sides in world football.
“For me he’s a role model what Arteta has done there,” he added.
“The start was not so easy but the club stayed calm, which is not so normal nowadays and then you can see what you can achieve.
“What I see from the outside they are so good in the details. They have an answer for everything. They have clear patterns in possession and out of possession. They will have an answer and a solution on the pitch for everything.
“That comes from hard work and when you focus on the process so Arteta and his team they are role models for everyone.
“I also follow their way in the last years because it’s something special and of course I can also learn a lot from this.”
