‘I have to look at myself’ – Postecoglou takes responsibility after Spurs lose to Chelsea

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou admits he will look at his own methods after Tottenham’s defeat to London rivals Chelsea.

Goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson handed Spurs a third defeat on the bounce and makes qualification for next season’s Champions League very unlikely.

And the Tottenham boss says his side were well off the levels needed to win the game.

“We didn’t play anywhere near the sort of football or the mindset that I expect us to have,” Postecoglou said.

“That’s on me. I’ve got to take responsibility for that, ultimately I’m the one who has put them out there and prepared them for it.

“We were so far off it so I have to look at myself and how I’m preparing this team.

“We lacked a real conviction and positive mindset in our football. We didn’t have any sort of fluency or aggression with and without the ball.

“It’s a bit unlike us because if nothing else, we’ve always been very competitive but especially in the first half it was missing today.”
