Daniel Farke inisted that Gabriel Gudmundsson’s red card was the wrong decision during Leeds’ draw with Crystal Palace.

After a late challenge on Ismaila Sarr Gudmundsson was given a second yellow card, however at first the referee had forgotten that the Leeds man had been given a yellow card earlier in the match.

Farke was not happy with the decision after the match.

“Everyone in the stadium can see [it was the wrong decision],” he said. “It was doubtful if it was even a foul. For me, it was a clear mistake.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a chance to take all three points from the spot but he was unable to score, Farke was sympathetic for his striker.

“You have to accept that you can miss the biggest chances,” he explained. “I am just proud of how we defended. Even in the second half, there was even moments where we thought we could win the game.”

Despite not taking all three points Farke was still very positive about his side’s performance and determination.

“I would trust my lads with my life,” he added. “We are not perfect, but the mentality in the dressing room is second to none. In the circumstances, in a difficult away game, we defended the whole time and we didn’t give any chances away.

“I think in the end, we had a higher expected goals than our opponents. Fantastic spirit, defending, clean sheet, and a point away.”
