Kieran McKenna has given injury updates on Wes Burns, Marcelino Nunez and Jaden Philogene.
Philogene suffered an MCL injury in mid-January, and though he is nearing a return, McKenna warned he must be careful with him.
“It’s an MCL injury,” he said. “It’s not a serious one, but the last stages of the rehab on those can be really tricky.
“We had it last year with Conor Chaplin – you can get to a certain point with the recovery and then last bit can run on longer than what you’d hoped.
“He’s had a little setback this week, was shut down for a few days and hopefully can start back up again next week and reintegrate as quickly as possible.”
Nunez has been out for almost a month with an ankle issue, but McKenna said he is now fit and available and should be ready for Wrexham this weekend: “Marcelino, yes. He has recovered well and trained well all week.”
Burns had to be taken off in the 2-1 win over Derby a couple of weeks ago with a groin issue, and McKenna said he was still unsure when he might be back: “With Wes we’re still waiting to decide for sure.”
