After the game Hurzeler claimed, “For us it is more of a disappointing feeling that we did not go home with three points.
“We have proved that we can compete with every team in the league.”
Asked if he was still confident of qualifying for the Champions League, Guardiola replied, “I am always confident. I am a master at that.
“We pushed until the end and we take the point.”
It may be the end of Brighton’s six game winning streak but it was not a bad result.
The Seagulls are a serious competitor in the Champions League race and they proved that today.
City were far from their best and did not do enough to win.
They were good in momens but Guardiola will know that they need to improve or they risk missing out on next season’s Champions League.
A draw is probably a fair result and that is how it finishes.
Both sides wanted to win and it was a competitive and entertaining affair.
De Bruyne takes the free-kick and puts it in a really dangerous area. Nobody gets on the end of it though.
There are four minutes added on.
Foden is fouled on the edge of the box by Wieffer who is booked.
A dangerous free-kick for City will follow.
Baleba is replaced by Wieffer for Brighton.

After another City attack, Brighton break forward in numbers.
Baleba has a great opportunity inside the penalty area but he blasts over.
Both teams are looking for the goal that could seal all three points.
Gonzalez has a header denied by the post from a City corner. Brighton then go up the other end and fire into the side-netting.

Bernardo Silva lasted less than 15 minutes and must have an issue.
Foden is on and will look to be decisive.
Gomez and Rutter are withdrawn for the visitors.

Brighton are continuing to fly forwards and they are not going to settle for a point.
They just came agonisingly close to taking the lead but Minteh could not connect with the ball at the back post.

The game has been fairly evenly matched so far.
Both sides have played with attacking intent and looked good going forwards.
It is City that lead at the break but this game is far from over.

The Brazilian’s shot beats Ortega but dribbles just wide of the post.

Marmoush hits a great finish into the bottom corner from outside the box.
Minteh does well to weave through City’s defence.
His curling shot is just on the wrong side of the post though.
