Guardiola reaction

And here’s Pep Guardiola’s reaction in full:

Full Frank press conference

Watch Thomas Frank’s full press conference following the win over Man City earlier today:

Guardiola on Gundogan and Akanji absence

“I said many times with the deep squad I have to rotate and maybe next game it will be another one.

“Try to get everybody involved and no more than that.”

Guardiola urges calm

“It happens, it’s football, it’s just the second game.

“Last game against Wolves everybody said everything is fine and I said it’s just the first game. Many things are going to happen.

“I say the same right now. I know we are working and what the players are doing and the many good things.

“Of course we have to improve but I said that against Wolves in the second half.

“Step by step until we click and make the good connections.”

Guardiola on the decision to play Trafford over Ederson

“He made a good first game, James, and I decided to continue.

“When I take a decision in the first part of the season, not just for the keeper, the keeper is a special position of course to have more consistency in goal, but for all the players when you play one or two games and everybody thinks okay this is the starting line-up and this is the players who will play.

“I learn from many years that with this amount of games, everybody will play and be important. It’s just today I decide that.”

Frank asked about more signings

“We have a good group of players, a talented group of players, a group of good quality players that I’m very pleased with.

“We brought in two good players to help. Can we improve it? Perfect. If we can’t then we have very good players, we’ve just shown that today.”

Frank on his side's high-pressing strategy

“I definitely believe in the aggressive press, as you saw today and with my Brentford team.

“I believe in the high pressure and being front footed. I like that mentality, I believe it’s offensive. It’s a more offensive way of defending and it’s more fun to defend in the opponents’ half and of course today we were very successful and managed to score a goal from it.”

Frank praises Spurs' mentality

“I think the mentality is key. You need the mentality to win games like this.”

Frank hails impact of his summer signings

“It’s fair to say we got a few questions about the transfer market yesterday, a lot about why not and what if and all that.

“But what is 100% sure is we brought two top players into the club in Kudus and Palhinha. Both have performed very well which I’m very pleased with.

“Palhinha… wow. I actually don’t think he’s fully fit yet for where I want him to be but very pleased with his performance and he’s definitely helping the team.”

Frank 'so proud' of his players

Thomas Frank says he is “so proud” of his Tottenham players and that it was an “exceptionally good performance” from his team.

He praises his side’s front footed approach to keep going for a third goal, as well as the importance of keeping a clean sheet.

Guardiola reacts to the loss

Pep Guardiola says he thinks the performance was “a little bit better than the result” but that his side got too many “simple things” wrong.

Man City defender Dias on his side's defeat

Ruben Dias speaking to TNT Sports: “Spurs are a team who can be very dangerous, they started the game very well.

“We didn’t react the best way in sticking to our game. The second goal is unfortunate, it cannot happen. We chased but there was a lot of things to do better. Not everything was good in our first game and not everything is bad now so we have to get back to work.”

Brennan Johnson hails 'perfect' win

Spurs goalscorer Brennan Johnson on his side’s win this afternoon: “Really pleased. I thought we played really well today, and we built on what we did last weekend. To come here get a clean sheet and score some goals – perfect.”

FULL TIME (0-2)

Spurs and Frank arrived at the Etihad with a game plan, and they executed it perfectly. A brilliant performance, a big win and a chance for them to build momentum.

For Guardiola and City it is a huge blow delivered in their first home game of the season. They never really got going and were deservedly beaten, a cause for serious concern.

90'+3
Spurs almost make it three

Solanke and Odobert both go close but Trafford keeps them out and keeps the score at 2-0.

Spurs have been brilliant this afternoon.

90'+1
Danso on (0-2)

Kevin Danso replaces Palinha.

Four minutes have been added on.

86'
Kudus off (0-2)

Kudus makes way for Lucas Bergvall.

Spurs are closing in on a statement victory.

85'
Foden fires at Vicario

City have looked better since Rodri and Foden came on, and the latter just fired a strik at Vicario’s goal.

Despite this, it is starting to feel like there is no way back for City.

81'
Porro booked (0-2)

Porro is the latest player to be shown a yellow card.

The right-back is booked for taking too long with a throw in.

79'
Foden limping (0-2)

Foden and Doku link up nicely in what is probably City’s best move of the afternoon.

Foden’s shot is blocked and he has been limping since then.

77'
Spurs double change (0-2)

Richarlison and Johnson both come off after good performances.

Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert are on in their place.

75'
Foden and Rodri on (0-2)

Foden and Rodri replace Bobb and Gonzalez for the final 15 minutes.

Spurs are looking comfortable and time is running out for Guardiola’s side.

71'
Bookings on both sides (0-2)

Nico Gonzalez and Richarlison are both booked.

It’s not been a great refereeing performance.

68'
Romero booked (0-2)

Romero catches Bobb just outside the box in a wide area.

The Argentine is booked for the challenge.
