Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he is hoping to have some of his injured players back for the Premier League clash with Spurs.
United cruised through to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over League One Wigan Athletic thanks to goals from Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes but were again without several injured players.
Injuries have plagued United this season but ten Hag is hopeful of some respite in the form of returning players this weekend.
“There are some players I think it’s hopeful that they can be back at the weekend,” ten Hag said.
“I’m talking about Christian Eriksen, potentially Luke Shaw.
“Harry (Maguire) maybe. Mason (Mount), I think he needs some days or a week more.”
United squandered several opportunities against Wigan to put the game to bed earlier before a late penalty from Fernandes secured their place in the fourth round and ten Hag says he was pleased with the performance.
“It’s football so we’re all about the win,” he said.
“I think first half, the way we played, the performance, with the way we worked the ball, how we made our runs in the final third and created lots of chances, that was pleasing to see.”
