Erik ten Hag said his Manchester United side can beat anyone when playing at their best following their 3-2 comeback win over Aston Villa.
United found themselves 2-0 down at half-time after goals from John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker but a double from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund’s first Premier League goal saw ten Hag’s side secure a much needed three points at Old Trafford.
And the United boss insists he has been happy with the performances despite recent results.
He explained: “We were competitive with Arsenal, we were competitive with Liverpool. If we play at our best, we can beat anyone.
“Believe in it. Even when you are 2-0 down, keep going, show the character, and I think today it showed. We have the personalities to do it and today I think was a very good team performance.
“People don’t see, they only judge the result. At West Ham United, we also played a solid game, but they see the result and they’re only complaining.
“I know football is about results and you get judged by the results, it’s normal, but as a manager you also have to see the performance. We dictated that game at West Ham.”
