‘It’s refreshing to play with these guys’ – Marcus Rashford ‘full of excitement’ at Barcelona after netting first goals for the club

Marcus Rashford says he is “full of excitement” for what Barcelona can achieve this season after scoring his first goals for the club in their win over Newcastle.

Rashford headed his side in front before scoring a stunning strike from distance to hand Barca 2-1 win at St James’ Park as they kicked off their Champions League campaign with a victory.

The England winger joined the Spanish giants on loan for the season from Manchester United, with an option for Barca to buy him also included in the deal.

And the 27-year-old says he is loving life at the club.

“It’s been an amazing experience,” he told TNT Sports.

“I’m full of excitement. I’m very motivated, determined, and the quality we’ve got in the team excites me alone.

“It’s refreshing to play with these guys. I’ve said it a few times but the team is so young but they play with such confidence, such understanding of the game and it’s not an easy place to come (St James’ Park), especially trying to play the way we play.

“I’ve won here a few times where we’ve not necessarily played the way that we wanted to play but today I think we gave a good account of ourselves, we defended well, and we walked away with the win.”
